skinny pants June 22, 2010 | 02:58 pm

I guess its a bit overdue, but these other folks here posted about their favorite album cover. It’s hard for me to say I have a favorite anything. But here is an album cover that I can’t help stare at for a while. It’s been secretly saved on my computer for years now. It might be superficial but I really do enjoy looking at girls in skinny pants and high heels.

Wanna do me a favor and vote for my t-shirt design? June 10, 2010 | 04:10 pm

On a slight whim I entered a design into the Weezer/Hurley t-shirt contest. Okay you don’t have to vote for my design, just your mere participation would be appreciated :D   But part of me feels like, “hey, I could win not because my design is really good, but because my competitors’ are really bad!”  Plus if I win I’ll give an xtra percentage of $ to the making of the Backlights EP!!

contest ends July 8th and you can vote for all the designs on a scale of 0-5  “)(“

wtf hippie June 7, 2010 | 09:01 pm

I like this album cover because it has that real wtf charm.  It is there to remind you that there are sensationally absurd things going on all around you all the time.  I especially like the expressions on the three hippies’ faces.  It places them somewhere, but also nowhere in particular at the same time.  They are suspended in GBV’s bizzaro universe.

Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for myself, circa 2004:

give me some of those cacao nibs, bro

Have you met Hono yet? June 6, 2010 | 08:33 pm

That’s one of my cats!  He is confusedly sitting in front of two album covers that I really like by the Silver Jews.  I am an embarrassingly awful music reviewer so simply put, this is just one of my favorite bands.  I love their music and their lyrics and I think their album covers are a good reflection of how they sound.  I guess this is starting to turn into a photo critique but I like how the images are so simple but can still elicit complex emotions of nostalgia and mystery.  Here are close-ups, note that the pushpins were placed by me.
